This'll Just Be Off the Top of My Head. . .
. . . because so far, at least, I'm committed to keeping this daily blog thing rolling, but I have no idea what to say tonight. LJ has a suggestion I write about Eliot Spitzer and his decision to resign, but I don't really have any opinion at all about that. Maybe I don't care because he's the governor of a state I don't live in. Maybe that's a poor reason not to care. All this is to me is just one more example of how deeply flawed the human race is. I don't really need one more example of that. I was convinced a long time ago.

Sigh, the paragon of animals and the quintessence of dust. What complicated creatures we are. How hard it is to evaluate the human race.

Do not try to evaluate "the human race"; only God may attempt that, in between squaring the circle and making a stone so heavy He cannot lift it.

Humans beings can usefully evaluate only other, individual, human beings. Specific people choosing to take specific actions with their lives during their time on Earth. In the end, were the actions virtuous? THAT is the question.
